Oh Beautiful Grandmother!

"Oh Beautiful Grandmother!" was a passion project born out of the craziness from…well my grandmother, Kayla, and her common antics and all that fun stuff cigs and alcohol included. Looking back on the footage I realized that the title of the film itself is never explained. So I’m gonna do it here. Basically, fresh out of the womb, she kept trying to get me to call her “oh beautiful grandmother”. Of course, that went absolutely nowhere as I could hardly say my own name (referring to myself as “Hands”) let alone a highly complex verbal vomit such as that one. Keeping with family tradition, we settled with Baba, yet she will still always be the notorious O.B.G. to me. Here’s to you oh beautiful grandmother, and all the madness you bring. Thank you for making this movie with me.​

Plot: Chronicles a summer in which Kayla, an elderly grandmother in her seventies, recounts her life with the occasional help from her three children.
